Lights Out? Time Out | CVSA Roadcheck 2021
Did you know, this upcoming May 4-6, 2021, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) is having its annual International Roadcheck? The Roadcheck will cover the United States, Mexico and Canada and is focused on emphasizing and reminding semi-trailer truck drivers of the importance of vehicle maintenance and safety. This years' Roadcheck will focus heavily on vehicle lighting and hours of service.
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) reported that 12.24% of vehicle violations are related to lighting problems. Lighting is a crucial safety factor when it comes to operating semi-trailer trucks. If a car is unable to see a truck on the road, this poses a safety issue to both the car and truck driver and it becomes apparent why adequate lighting is required, and why it is the focus of this years CVSA Roadcheck.
